Westfield Youth Sports Inc. President Chad Schenkel and the WYSI Board of Directors are pleased to announce the addition of two new positions within the organization. Katie Schimmel recently joined the team as the Sports Operations Manager and Kit Stetzel is now on board as the Communications and Partnerships Manager.

“We’re excited to add Katie and Kit to Westfield Youth Sports Inc.,” Schenkel stated. “We believe their backgrounds will help accelerate our ability to successfully serve the community of Westfield.”

Prior to joining WYSI, Schimmel was the Executive Director for COACH Kids of Clinton County, a youth mentoring organization. She obtained her Excellence in Non-Profit Leadership Certification and is involved with Current Journey Fellow in "The Journey" through IYSA (Indiana Youth Service Association). During her time at COACH Kids, she managed all aspects of the organization from community partnerships, fundraising, day-to-day operations, and child advocacy. 

In her current role with WYSI, Schimmel will manage the annual operating budget, coordinate fundraising efforts and sponsorships, help select league commissioners, and maintain and improve upon the facilities used by WYSI.

Stetzel heads to WYSI after spending the previous 11 years working in the Athletic Communications office at Butler University. While working for the Bulldogs, Stetzel was the primary sports information contact for the football, women’s basketball, baseball and swimming programs. He was also the manager of ButlerSports.com, a website that engaged over 1.3 million users annually.

Now with WYSI, Stetzel will develop communication strategies, create digital content, help with registration improvements, and support both the sports operations manager and sport program leaders all while building long-lasting relationships with WYSI sponsors.
